Synopsis

Maria Giulia lives in her white world. It may be monotonous, but it has everything she needs; she likes it and is happy. She nurtures a small dream: to grow a flower, a beautiful colorful flower, like the one drawn on the last page of her favorite book, in her garden. With that image in her heart, she falls asleep every night.

One night, she receives a magical red suitcase filled with sounds and colorful things, all necessary to cultivate a special gift: a seed.

Maria Giulia knows that flowers grow from seeds. So, she decides to take care of this seed: she plants it, waters it, nurtures it, and waits patiently for it to grow. Sometimes she gets a little bored, but she learns that achieving a result always requires time and dedication: only then will the flower bloom.

Caring

Taking care of something or someone is an act of great responsibility, requiring patience and perseverance. Whether it’s helping a flower grow, like a child, a pet, or cultivating a passion, it’s a daily commitment filled with both joy and effort.

A white space shows that anything is possible. On a blank sheet of paper, there is nothing, but I can write or draw whatever I want. It’s not easy to begin, to write the first verse or draw the first line, but little by little, the page fills, and the white becomes the cradle for making our dreams come true.

Each year, the white and silent winter preserves all the seeds that, in spring, will once again color the world with warmth, giving new space to life. It always happens, and even here, all it takes is a little patience.

Colors take shape against the white background: geometric shapes, lines, and colors. Simple forms that outline spaces, synthesize situations and feelings, leaving plenty of room for the imagination. The geometric and colorful grids of Mondrian, as a “synthetic” vision of the world, served as inspiration for the set design of Mi Piace.
